The Hortus Pot

Josef Frank’s classic Hortus Pot in glass was originally designed in connection to Svenskt Tenn’s spring exhibition in 1943.

The Hortus glass pot

The Hortus glass pot was originally introduced in clear glass, ruby red, emerald green and deep blue colourways in 1943. Ever since, these colours have remained in the range with the addition of an amber colourway. The deep red variation is traditionally only sold during Christmas at Svenskt Tenn.

How the Hortus Pot is made

The Hortus Pot in glass is manufactured at Reijmyre glassworks in Östergötland, Sweden. Seven craftsmen are involved in the process from start to finish: a glass melter, four glass blowers and two craftsmen responsible for the finishing touches.
