Michael Anastassiades
Designer Michael Anastassiades opened a London-based studio in 1994 and founded his own brand in 2007. Since, he has created a series of acclaimed lighting, furniture, and objects that reflect his continuous quest for eclecticism and individuality.
Michael Anastassiades was born in 1967 in Cyprus, where he grew up and established himself as a leader in modern lighting design. He studied engineering at the Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine in London before furthering his education and obtaining a master's degree in industrial design from the Royal College of Art. In 1994, he opened his studio with the aim of exploring contemporary notions of culture and aesthetics through a combination of product, furniture, and environmental design.

In 2007, Michael Anastassiades founded his brand. In Sweden, he garnered attention after his first collaboration with Svenskt Tenn, where he interpreted Josef Frank’s works in a large exhibition in conjunction to Stockholm Design Week in 2013.
A minimalist aesthetic is central to Michael Anastassiades' design. His works have received significant international acclaim, with several items permanently exhibited at institutions such as MoMa in New York, MAK in Vienna, and FRAC Centre in Orleans.
