The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences was founded in 1739 and is an independent organisation, whose overall objective is to promote the sciences and strengthen their influence in society. In 2019, when the organisation was facing a renovation and restoration of both conference rooms and auditoriums in Stockholm, the commission went to Svenskt Tenn’s Interior Design Studio together with Sweco Architects.

The Interior Design Studio decorated the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences with the help of a generous donation from the Kjell and Märta Beijer foundation. The aesthetic expression was renewed with welcoming, generous entrances, private salons and social areas for both smaller and larger parties.
