ENCHANTING COLOR PALETTE
SUMMER TABLE SETTING
This summer, we set the table with an enchanting colour palette – playful shades and crafts from different parts of the world. The tablecloth and napkins are block printed by hand, at a small, family-owned company in India, and the deep blue coasters are braided in Swaziland, as part of a project to empower women in remote areas.
The mesmerizing lines on the glass candlestick from Murano create a sharp contrast to the classic blue and white textiles. The candlestick is made with traditional filigree technique from the 16th century, where the glass master uses coloured canes to make the lines emerge. This Italian craft meets French design in the porcelain tableware Oiseaux de Paradis, a historic and timeless porcelain set from Gien, created around 1865.
