Decorate your outdoor space with textiles

Floral fabrics by Josef Frank

Giant leaves form an arch over pale pink flower baskets and a romantic shimmer of butterflies can be glimpsed among the foliage. We have brought Delhi to the outdoor space by hanging a large-patterned linen fabric over the railing; an easy way to frame the seating area and create a cosy outdoor room. The fabric is a decorative way to give your outdoor area a warm and inviting character and it can be easily folded and brought inside when not in use. In addition to Delhi, the patio has been decorated with cushions in Josef Frank’s botanical patterns Brazil Träd i blom and Hawai.

Throw pillows and seat cushions for the outdoor space

Svenskt Tenn’s cushions add both comfort and elegance to your outdoor space. With a wide range of colours, patterns and sizes, you can easily find something to suit your personal taste and decorating style. In addition to the cushions in Josef Frank’s botanical prints, there are also weatherproof cushions for the outdoor furniture. The seat and back cushion pad in the Dedar Summertime fabric comes in two different colours and has been designed specifically for outdoor use. It is made to fit Josef Frank’s 591 armchair, a piece of garden furniture in lacquered iron with a mesh lattice back and seat.

Outdoor furniture by Josef Frank

Armchair 591 is a lacquered iron and mesh lattice garden chair designed by Josef Frank in the mid-1930s. This type of tubular steel furniture was popular in the functionalistic style that made its way into Sweden, but it was unusual for Josef Frank, who rarely used iron in his furniture designs.

This summer, we’re furnishing the outdoor space with these timeless outdoor chairs combined with Garden Table 602 in iron and granite and Sofa 311 – a rattan piece handmade in Stockholm, just 1.5 kilometres from the Svenskt Tenn store on Strandvägen 5. While the iron and stone furniture is more resistant to the elements, the rattan furniture needs slightly more protection, and should be placed preferably under a roof or overhang in an outdoor area.
