Dining table “À Table” is composed of carefully selected materials. The table top has a thin veneer layer that matures and can change a lot over time. The more the table is exposed to daylight, the faster its colour will change.
Wipe the table with a soft, clean microfiber cloth. When necessary, use mild soapy water. Make sure to wipe it dry immediately afterwards. Avoid using polish, strong cleaning agents or oils other than the one recommended.
The table top has been finished with Osmo Oil, white-pigmented hard wax oil. This oil forms a coating that protects the table from moisture and dirt, as well as making the top brighter. The treatment needs to be renewed over time and can be performed at home, following the oil maker’s instructions. American ash is usually light yellowish-white and it matures over time to a deeper and darker golden tone. The white-pigmented oil helps delay the wood’s maturation process.
Never expose the table to prolonged moisture or direct heat. Never place vases with water directly on the table as the condensation can damage the surface. Do not cover the surface with objects initially as the wood will mature differently, leaving traces of the object. Both table and extra table leaves are numbered to ensure a proper fit and match. When not in use, they should be stored in the same environment as the table to avoid being affected differently due to moisture and temperature changes.
The base of the table consists of powder-coated steel with a stainless steel mount. The legs are wrapped in lightly tinted natural leather. The leather will also darken over time and is affected by, for example, moisture and grease. The brass feet are non-coated and will also darken with time.
Always lift furniture when moving it rather than dragging it across the floor. Avoid exposing the table to large fluctuations in temperature and humidity as this can cause the wood to expand or contract.
Should the lacquer or veneer get damaged, don’t hesitate to contact a furniture restorer. It is often possible to repair lightly damaged furniture if it’s tended to right away, rather than waiting.
