Cabinet 2192
Cabinet 2192, also called the "Corrugated paper cabinet" referring to the ribbed front, was designed by Josef Frank in 1954. The form of the front is irregular and creates a shadow effect that makes the design unusual and innovative.
An iconic piece
As he often would, Josef Frank used different materials when designing this iconic furniture piece: a lacquered cabinet, tall leg stands, and an interior made of mahogany featuring characteristic acorn-shaped brass hinges.
Anders Mattsson“When I cut profiles using Japanese chisels or glue pegs that fit perfectly, I feel an extraordinary and very tangible sense of pride for my profession.”
How the Cabinet 2192 is made
Cabinet 2192, or the “Corrugated paper Cabinet” as it is nicknamed, has been produced by the same master carpenter for almost 20 years.
