The Profile Vase
The “Profile Vase”, designed by the renowned artist and sculptor Anna Petrus for Svenskt Tenn in 1927, is an iconic pewter piece in our range. This substantial pewter vase, resembling a ginger jar in its form, holds a significant place as one of the four indispensable vessels for arranging cut flowers, as identified by Svenskt Tenn’s founder, Estrid Ericson.
Nordic 1920s classicism
Although Anna petrus often turned to the East when searching for inspiration, there were several aesthetics and eras that had an impact on her style. One example is the Profile vase, designed for Svenskt Tenn in 1927, with relief motifs that exhibit clear influences from Nordic Classicism.
The Angel Mark on Pewter Objects
Svenskt Tenn’s own pewter objects are always stamped with Änglamärket (The Angel Mark), which has evolved into a recognisable hallmark of quality.
How the Profile Vase is Made
The Profile Vase is manufactured at Humstorp Metall in Västergötland, Sweden. The workshop was founded in 2011 by Oskar Hammar, who took over a part of the production from his parents' company 'Skaraborgs Hantverk,' founded in 1978.
